Sr. Manager, Market Development

About the Role:
Reporting to the General Sales Manager, SEA/ANZ, you are responsible to carry out market research activities in the country with approval obtained from PTE Singapore, which include:

  • Collation of information about markets, competitors, suppliers or customers;
  • Conduct research on demand for products/ services, potential customer’s techno-commercial requirements.
  • Facilitate the processing of products and services order pertaining to PTE Singapore’s customer demands within defined areas to meet business targets
  • Administrative responsibility of smooth running of Bangkok office & liaison with local authorities as per guidelines of the company.

This position is based in Thailand.

Key Accountabilities:
Market Research Activities

  • Conduct market research activities and collect information about market trends, competitors, suppliers, customers and product mix
  • Conduct research on demand for products/services, potential customer’s needs and price expectation
  • Identify trade contacts and opportunities, as well as handle products enquiries
  • Identify & report general market trends for the PTE Singapore

People

  • Provide information on segments, customers and suppliers
  • Provide translation for Borouge PTE Singapore teams during any of the customers visit.

Customer Relationship

  • Facilitate customer relationships with PTE Singapore, i.e. by handling enquiries from customers
  • Provide information on products/ services to PTE Singapore’s customers.
  • Visit existing and potential customers to identify their needs
  • Identify trade contacts and handle enquiries from PTE Singapore’s customers
  • Provide information about products/ services to PTE Singapore’s customers
  • Gather information about markets, competitors, suppliers and customers

About You:

  • University degree in Chemical Engineering/ Polymers, management education is preferred
  • At least 15 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of the PP Rigid market in Thailand and experience in handling customers in this segment would be advantageous
  • Good proficiency in Thai is a must
  • Experience in petrochemical industry is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of customer conversion process and product promotions
  • Good knowledge of products and its applications
  • Good knowledge of marketing strategy and value chain and sales cycle
  • Good understanding of market structure and factors influencing demand and profitability
  • Good knowledge of selling and sales management techniques
  • Good financial literacy
  • Good proficiency in written and spoken English
