Senior Engineer, Inspection
JOB PURPOSE
The jobholder is responsible to provide engineering expertise and knowledge in the field of Inspection to ensure
proper assessment of the condition of fields’ equipment and facilities using up-to-date methods and techniques
of non-destructive examination as required by the referencing codes to ensure the integrity of fixed equipment,
in supporting Borouge's commitment to operational excellence, safety, and reliability.

Inspection Planning & Scheduling
Prepare inspection plans and schedules based on historical data and RBI studies to ensure timely and
efficient inspection activities, supporting Borouge’s commitment to operational excellence and plant
availability.
Coordinate with the Maintenance to forecast requirements for scaffoldings, insulation removal, and cranes,
facilitating seamless inspection processes and minimizing downtime.
Identify potential risks and mitigation strategies through thorough planning, contributing to the safety and
integrity of Borouge’s operations.
Align inspection schedules with plant maintenance cycles to optimize resource utilization and support
Borouge’s strategic goal of high-speed delivery to market.
Incorporate feedback from previous inspections to continuously improve the inspection process, aligning
with Borouge’s culture of learning and agility.
Ensure compliance with international codes and standards, maintaining Borouge’s reputation for quality
and reliability in the global market.
Inspection Techniques and Methodologies
Provide appropriate testing techniques and report inspection observations to accurately assess equipment

Recommend corrective actions based on inspection findings to prevent potential failures, ensuring the

Utilize up-to-date non-destructive examination methods to ensure the thoroughness and accuracy of

Attach relevant documents such as checklists and detailed assembly drawings to inspection reports,

Maintenance Assurance
Raise and review maintenance work orders based on inspection recommendations to ensure timely
corrective and preventive actions, supporting Borouge’s focus on reliability and uptime.
Close work orders after verifying job completion to maintain accurate records and accountability reflect
Borouge’s commitment to operational excellence.
Monitor the effectiveness of maintenance actions to ensure they meet Borouge’s standards, contributing
to the company’s reputation for quality.
Liaise with the maintenance team to prioritize critical repairs, aligning with Borouge’s strategic emphasis
on plant availability and performance.
Track maintenance outcomes to identify areas for improvement, supporting Borouge’s continuous
improvement initiatives.
Validate the integrity of repaired or replaced equipment to ensure compliance with Borouge’s stringent
safety and quality requirements.
Testing & Quality Assurance
Coordinate material analysis, hardness testing, and coating thickness checks to ensure the quality of
spares and assemblies, upholding Borouge’s high standards.
Verify the accuracy of testing results during fabrication, maintenance, and overhaul activities to prevent
discrepancies, supporting Borouge’s commitment to precision.
Ensure all inspections are completed before issuing reports to maintain the integrity of Borouge’s
documentation process.
Collaborate with suppliers to maintain quality standards for new installations of parts, piping, and
equipment, reflecting Borouge’s focus on excellence.
Review final QC dossiers from contractors to confirm compliance with Borouge’s specifications,
demonstrating the company’s attention to detail.
Witness welder qualification tests and prepare certifications for approval by Asset Integrity, contributing to
Borouge’s robust quality control measures.
Prepare welding procedure specifications (WPS) and welder qualifications (WPQ) to standardize practices
across Borouge’s operations.
Projects’ Coordination
Review inspection scopes and checklists for coordination of external inspection contractor jobs to ensure
alignment with Borouge’s project requirements.
Manage inspection and corrosion projects by overseeing third-party inspection agencies, ensuring
Borouge’s assets are maintained to the highest standards.
Perform technical evaluations to assess the suitability of inspection methods, supporting Borouge’s drive
for operational efficiency.
Coordinate with the Asset Integrity team to certify welders, ensuring the skillset aligns with Borouge’s
technical requirements.
Implement corrective and preventive measures based on inspection findings to improve plant and
equipment conditions, aligning with Borouge’s strategic goals for asset management.
Communication & Reporting
Communicate inspection findings and recommendations to relevant departments, ensuring transparency
and collaboration across Borouge’s operations.
Engage with stakeholders to discuss inspection results and necessary actions, fostering a culture of open
communication and shared responsibility.
Report abnormalities and defects to concerned teams promptly, enabling Borouge to address issues
swiftly and maintain operational continuity.
Advise on the implementation of inspection recommendations, ensuring that Borouge’s actions are
informed by expert insights.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address inspection-related challenges, demonstrating
Borouge’s commitment to teamwork and problem-solving.
Facilitate knowledge sharing on inspection.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Related Engineering Disciplines. (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Material Science,
Industrial etc.)
AWS/API certification like API 510/570/653 are desirable.
Familiarity of International Codes and Standards related to fabrication and inspection of pressure vessels,
piping, heat exchangers, storage tanks etc.
Familiarity with Engineering Drawings, Manuals, and Symbols.
Fluency in English Language; written and oral
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
Minimum 5 - 8 years’ work experience in this Inspection, Corrosion, Metallurgy, and related fields.
Experience in a Corrosion / Materials environment and relevant experience within oil gas industry
Proven record in performing inspection for Pressure Vessels, Tanks, Piping, Boilers, Furnaces, Flares &
Stacks.
Recognized Technical Authority & coach within the own area of expertise.
Good knowledge of relevant international standards & project management tools
Well-developed interpersonal, organizational, analytical, team- & networking skills
Exposure to work as CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector.
Hands on NDT, maintenance, and inspection in oil and gas processing plant.
Hands on technical reporting; checklist, SAP entries, sampling, reports, forms, template, or procedures.
Advanced level of attention to details. Structured and self-organized.
