Sr. Specialist, Visual & Digital

JOB PURPOSE

 

The jobholder is responsible to lead, drive and execute the digital communications strategy and programmes, to contribute to global and regional communications strategies and plans to promote Borouge’s industry positioning and business success locally, regionally and across the world.

This role includes; managing Borouge’s website, social media and digital platforms and content for global audiences, and directing and managing communications campaigns, branding matters, public relations, crisis communications and community engagement across the regional and local markets to maximise reach and audience engagement, and meet key stakeholders’ requirements, in line with the company communication objectives. In addition to developing visual content to drive effective communications externally.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Job Specific Accountabilities

 

  • Develop content for various digital platforms and services including the website, intranet and online social media platforms to maximise reach, and ensures the company image, brand and reputation is well communicated and visible to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyse Digital Communications operational plans and initiatives; identify gaps and recommend corrective measures to support in strengthening and protecting the company image and reputation among key stakeholders locally, regionally, globally and internally.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of the website and other social media platforms. This includes managing search engine optimisation and providing a content strategy to drive people to the website, intranet and online social media platforms.
  • Work with other members of the external communications team to produce fully integrated online and offline campaigns.
  • Support Management on critical and sensitive reputation issues and communication related challenges in order to inform effective decision-making.
  • Participate in developing Digital communications plans, campaigns and initiatives in line with its strategic objectives in order to continuously build a positive reputation, and improve perception among external stakeholders.
  • Develop and nurture strong media relation with key identified influencers and online media locally and globally, in order to create better media opportunities.
  • Analyse, develop and deliver new functionalities and enhancements to the website and other digital services, including websites, microsites, emails, e-newsletters, SMS / MMS, etc. in order to optimise communication and enhances stakeholder engagement.
  • Analyse the trends and metrics related to public perception and social media coverage trends in order to continuously identify opportunities to enhance digital communications strategies and plans and improve Borouge image online.
  • Identify trends and insights to optimise spend and performance based on the website and social media performance
  • Development and maintenance of web content management system and administration tools to effectively organise and disseminate online content.
  • Conduct digital content review and updates processes in order to ensure quality and relevance of content, and collaborate with the content team to address issues.
  • Provide digital communications related advice to business and corporate functions and assets, as deemed necessary, in order to develop and oversees the execution of integrated communications plans. Provide technical guidance and interventions for business and corporate functions in order to optimise and manage a wide-range of digital applications and platforms that support in meeting business objectives.
  • Conduct researches including analyses of user behaviour, and participates in the assessments in order to convey research insights to the relevant internal stakeholder (Business/ Corporate Functions).
  • Conduct performance data review and metrics related to the digital platforms and develops regular report on digital platforms usage, and recommends necessary actions to improve usage.
  • Manage online digital marketing campaigns including online advertising, plans, strategies, social media content creation and reporting.
  • Measure and report performance on digital platforms including website performance and social media channels and work accordingly to meet Borouge KPI’s and objectives
  • Provide creative and smart ideas for campaigns and activations which will develop company image and reputation.
  • Produce digital media content in both Arabic & English for websites, social media, online campaigns
  • Work with different teams to deliver digital campaigns and projects including interactive screen content/ touch screen content
  • Monitor the social media conversations, respond, report and engage with the audience to maintain company image online.
  • Create strong visual content/ infographics to be used in various platforms including animation
  • Serve as strategic communications advisor and partner to Borouge Leadership on digital communications to support the functional objectives, strategies and plans.
  • Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

 

Social Media Standards & Control

 

  • Align Borouge’s policies, standards, and code of conduct with the social media policies and practices to ensure compliance.
  • Design, communicate, and coach Borouge’s employees and stakeholders on their precautionary and preferred interface within the social media.
  • Assess the employees’ communications and social media usage to safeguard Borouge’s image, brand and interests.
  • Review with the Compliance, Regulations, Audits, and other governance teams the social media’s best practices to ensure proper utilization of company resources.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

 

Minimum Qualification

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, digital communication, marketing or equivalent.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication abilities in English and Arabic

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

 

  • Minimum of 9 years of total experience
  • Preferably experience in a large-scale organization with complex and multi-sectorial business operations or experience working in various industries.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the Media, Social Media, Digital Communication, or similar occupations.
  • Demonstrated deep knowledge and direct experience in project, branding, community relations, media and social media management, public relations, and crisis communications at the regional and global level.
  • Good knowledge of a wide range of digital platforms including social media, websites, e-newsletters.
  • Knowledge of web content management systems.
  • Good skills in online advertising, Google Ad-words, Google Analytics, social media tools, SEO/SEM and any other relevant digital tool.
  • Good project management knowledge and ability to deliver web/digital projects within cross-functional teams.
  • Good understanding of information architecture, usability and site design.
  • Creative and innovative approach to communications with the ability to identify new ways of working and lead the change needed.
  • Ability to develop and maintain successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Borouge operations and various sectors, and ability to lead the delivery of tailored solutions in line with specific business requirements.
  • Good knowledge of market and using behavior analysis tools. 
  • Strong written communications skills.
