About the Role:
Reporting to the Vice President, Centre of Excellence, you are responsible to lead the development and implementation of commercial best practices across commercial functions and regions, acting as a “change agent” in the organisation, to ensure sustainable excellence and growth of value creation and margin improvement through higher premiums, while leading the Benchmarking of performance cells against external companies to identify gaps and gap-closing initiatives.

You are responsible for leading the development and standardization of pricing tool across performance cells and act as Pricing Process Owner to govern and improve the process.

This role includes driving the governance of the implemented initiatives or processes to ensure company’s objectives are reached and desired commercial results are achieved, including but not limited to setting relevant KPIs for commercial functions and regular follow-up reviews of changed processes.

This position is based in Singapore

Key Accountabilities
Commercial Excellence Initiatives

  • Act as overall Champion for the organization in developing, designing and implementing key initiatives to improve Borouge’s commercial capability.
  • Prioritize the portfolio of commercial initiatives based on gap assessment and root cause analyses and recommend the most suitable implementation plan to drive effectiveness in all aspects of commercial activities
  • Engage partnership with other functional heads or key stakeholders to secure indirect resources for commercial excellence initiatives to ensure successful implementation
  • Lead commercial excellence initiatives through disciplined project management approach to build competitive edge over other players in the industry

 

Commercial Excellence Program

  • Develop the commercial excellence roadmap in line with the corporate strategy & goals
  • Engage and challenge project teams to explore all potential ideas, methodologies, techniques and solutions by thinking outside the box, in order to find the most strategic solutions for the projects
  • Design and run campaigns related to commercial changes in the organization to communicate effectively the key objectives, new improved process and benefits of the change so that the mindset and new practices are ingrained in the organization
  • Deploy and drive governance around the implemented initiatives
  • Champion mindset & culture change within the organisation towards “customer centricity” & commercial excellence
  • Analyse feedback from key stakeholders and cross-functional leadership teams to drive continuous improvement of commercial processes, sales capabilities, tools and supporting systems
  • Recommend KPI dashboards to the Executive Team for regular review & monitoring of the changed processes

Benchmarking & Gap Assessment

  • Lead regular benchmarking of commercial performance of the organisation internally and externally (versus industry) to identify gaps and gap-closing initiatives
  • Identify and curate insights on commercial best practices in the market; assess their relevance and alignment to Borouge business and overall company strategy
  • Lead gap assessment and root cause analyses in the area of Commercial Excellence to identify fundamental issues and recommend strategy and direction to close gaps

Pricing Governance

  • Act as process owner for Pricing in the company
  • Develop and standardize pricing tool across performance cells
  • Lead pricing performance management and process governance
  • Review deals and price exceptions on a regular basis and alert management for corrective actions 
  • Recommend most efficient pricing process to allow fast response to market so as to drive maximum profit for company
  • Scout and recommend most suitable pricing tool for Borouge based on our processes, infrastructure and business model setup

 

About You:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Economics, or any other Management, Engineering Disciplines
  • MBA or post-graduate qualifications in Business, Marketing will be an advantage
  • Minimum 12-15 years of petrochemical or related industries experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in sales and marketing roles, leading transformational programs to drive
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in applying Artificial Intelligence in Business at MNC level is a must
  • Minimum of 6 years in Product Pricing or Commercial Strategy
  • Minimum of 5 years in people management role in a multinational company
  • Thorough understanding of customers and value chain segments
  • Thorough understanding of marketing and sales management techniques and tools
  • Advanced strategic thinking to drive strategic direction at senior level
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills applied at all levels to gain consensus
  • Strong project management skills
