Sr. Manager, Price Performance

About the Role:
The Price Performance Sr./Manager is responsible to lead all corporate price performance activities, including internal price analysis, recommend performance tools and provide strategic recommendations which will directly impact our company's bottom line and market competitiveness for overall sales volumes in Borouge. The jobholder will play a critical role in optimising Borouge’s pricing strategies and driving maximum revenue performance ensuring pricing accuracy and effective pricing implementation. The jobholder will be responsible for analysing pricing data, market trends, and competitor information to develop and recommend strategies and improvements to maximize business performance.

The jobholder should possess deep knowledge in areas of polymer pricing, excellent at data representation, and excellent stakeholder management skills. The jobholder should also be able to provide analysis, business insights and recommendations to key stakeholders on operational and strategic business issues, challenge the status quo while ensuring the robustness of the pricing process.

This role is based in Singapore.

Key Accountabilities:
Corporate Price Performance

  • Lead the review of overall price setting, price execution and any related components which would impact the polymer unit sales margin. Components include market-based indices, product premiums, country and logistics adjustments, and any other customer or channel specific terms.
  • Run the PTE Price Performance meeting
  • Ensure current pricing strategies are in line with longer term business objectives and targets, and ensure tracking of any deviations and reasons for such deviations to the business objectives
  • Responsible for the design, consolidation and analysis of regional pricing outcomes and for the reporting of potential impact to Borouge, and provide recommendations to the Executive team
  • Design relevant metrics and methodology to determine accuracy of polymer and feedstock price-related components used in financial reporting, management reporting and business plan by collaborating with the different teams who provide forecasts.
  • Perform cross-activity performance analysis on business plan accuracy, forecasting accuracy, setting and accuracy and execution and the effect of one on the other and what it means for the organisational profit
  • A corporate level including business plan with focused on pricing including financial
  • Provide feedback on process and procedure for continuous improvement of teams to perform better and champion such changes
  • Oversee overall price performance and adherence to price setting and direct changes through Sales Performance Manager and Analyst – identify market intelligence and regional price improvement levers and mandate their implementation

Regional Price Performance

  • Analyse the accuracy and efficiency of Average Selling Price, Target Price and Standard Offer Price and related price components including other metrics such as the timeliness of setting by regions
  • Ensure that Regional Strategy & Performance teams are tracking monthly pricing tactics and have controls to be able to respond to market and sales development, and report any key findings
  • Support the development for regional pricing management in pricing index and price development; i.e. base resin floor price, long term prices, contract exceptions, spot deals, direct etc.
  • Lead and mentor regional pricing managers and Regional Strategy and Performance team on best practices
  • Performance Tools and Management Reports
  • Design, maintain and automate dashboards to be reported on a weekly basis to Executive Team
  • Manage and maintain structure of reports in pricing software and tools, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in performance reporting
  • Lead the design, development and implementation of reports, KPIs, dashboards and targets for region in close collaboration with the regional controller, the SVP/VPs and other relevant stakeholders. Facilitate alignment discussions and ensure integration with corporate KPIs.
  • Create dashboards with the use of BI tools especially with SAP Analytics Cloud

Market Benchmarking

  • Identify available benchmarks and pricing intelligence to determine competitor pricing strategy and design the structure of competitor data collections
  • Analyse the quality of different 3rd party benchmarks in relation to Borouge needs
  • Monitor and assess the performance of existing pricing structures and recommend adjustments when necessary.
  • Support Global Marketing and Regional teams in the analysis of competitor pricing strategies, products, and market positioning in relation to Borouge’s products with the support of Global Marketing
  • Use competitive intelligence to recommend improvements to our pricing strategies and maintain a competitive edge
  • Dissect and analyse 3rd party price benchmarking reports commissioned by Borouge

Price Performance Excellence

  • Provide ongoing guidance to ensure the regional pricing team is equipped to analyse and report pricing strategies
  • Support the development of maintain sophisticated pricing models and tools that aid in data-driven decision-making and pricing simulations.
  • Maintain performance related policy in Business Optimisation working with S&OP and Head of Business Optimisation
  • Standardise price performance reports for regions, ensure regional pricing performance are in accordance to policy and processes and drive change for continuous pricing process improvement by supporting Pricing Process Governance team
  • Review and align price performance findings with all relevant stakeholders

Price Performance Analysis and Thought Leadership

  • Recommend improvements to price setting structure and liaise with Pricing Governance team for any changes required in pricing policy
  • Develop and refine pricing strategies that align with the company's financial goals and competitive positioning.
  • Analyse benefit and areas of improvement for contract prices ensuring optimal terms in pricing structures.
  • Perform studies on possible leading indicators on product group level, analyse market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor pricing to assess whether pricing strategy decisions made are in line
  • Support strategy development and review activities to identify areas of improvement

About You:

  • Minimum of university degree in Business, Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Postgraduate degree in Strategy, Business management, or MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 - 15 years of polymer industry experience, out of which minimum 5 years in pricing and price forecasting, and minimum of 5 years in strategy and commercial function.
  • Thorough understanding of polymer industry market dynamics, its various sales channels and the factors that influence demand and profitability
  • Demonstrated track record of analytical competence (modelling, root-cause analysis, contribution margin analysis etc.).
  • Outstanding analytical skills and advanced capabilities in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proven ability to develop written reports and deliver presentations to a senior audience.
  • Advanced strategic thinking to drive strategic direction at senior level
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills applied at all levels to gain consensus
  • Strong collaborative skills and cultural awareness in cross-functional teams across the organization
