Sr. Specialist, Business Optimisation

About the Role:

Reporting to the Head of Business Optimisation, you are required to perform in–depth analysis of production volume, inventories, sales volume, product costing and profitability of the PO product portfolio in different regions, to support executive level decision making, S&OP scenario planning, annual business planning, and regular ad-hoc simulations. You will provide qualified support for operational decisions and setting business rules, analysis of product costing for decision on product floor prices, developing analytical tools, making periodic reports as required, give recommendations on how to optimise the business on different time horizons, and lead specific investigations and projects as required.

This position is based in Singapore.

Key Accountabilities:

Business optimisation analytics and reporting

  • Periodically analyse and report the progress of production volume, inventories, sales volume, product costing and profitability of products in different markets, for periodic leadership meetings
  • Identify gaps between targets and actual results, analyse root causes for deviations
  • Support Head of Business Optimisation to drive business improvement initiatives, propose how to optimise production, inventory and sales volume by scenario planning, and follow up optimised business scenario progress
  • Perform simulations for Floor Price setting, and sales margin forecast preparation for volume allocation optimisation
  • Prepare and give presentations with recommendations to relevant management teams
  • Drive continuous improvement of analytical tools to support decision making

Business optimisation processes

  • Support different steps in integrated planning business process and other processes, such as business plan product balancing, product segmentation, product portfolio review, inventory management, and sales & operations planning
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of business optimisation processes

Project management

  • Set up and lead internal or cross-functional improvement initiatives and projects
  • Planning and organising activities related to regular or ad hoc meetings and processes, with regular follow-up and monitoring to ensure implementation of required actions

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/science/economics/management
  • 3 years working experience in relevant function within Borouge, or equivalent
  • Fluent in spoken/written English
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to convert data into insights
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills, project management certification is an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP skills
  • Good business reporting writing
  • Good understanding of polyolefin market, application and products in Asia & Middle East
  • Good understanding of polyolefin manufacturing processes
  • Good understanding of financial parameters and profitability analysis
